• TeenSafe is devoted to empowering parents keep their children safe in this technological age, staying one step ahead of their children who are inherently digital natives.
• Monitoring is not just a legal right, but also a responsibility for parents.
• We believe privacy is trumped by safety and protection.
• Parents must use the service responsibly and only really to keep their kids safe. We do not recommend it as a tool for “getting to know your child”.
• Teens and phones: 78% of teens have smartphones and access to social media sites and the average teen consumes 7.5 hours of screen time a day. By 2020, 90% of children over SIX will have a cell phone.
• Cyberbullying: Nearly 43% of kids suffer from cyberbullying (25% of these have had to endure it more than once) and 90% of those will never tell an adult.
• Sexting: 40% of teens have posted or sent sexually suggestive messages.
• TeenSafe believes that depriving children of technology is not the answer. What really counts is not the amount of time your child spends in front of the screen – but the overall health and productivity of that screen time.
• TeenSafe is easy to set up on both iPhones, Androids and tablets and is completely legal for parents/guardians monitoring their children under the age of 18.
• National PTA: TeenSafe’s partnership with National PTA has brought awareness to parents across the nation to the importance of monitoring their children in this digital age. We are supporting local schools around the U.S. in making our world a safer place for our children.
• Stand For the Silent: TeenSafe supports this anti-bullying charity.
• More than 850,000 parents have signed up for TeenSafe since its inception in 2011.
